Last week I had to discard the footage I took, because Sun was down and I didn’t have enough light… I was frustrated a but, so I started looking for solutions for this particular problem. After a while of searching I found this thing called LumeCube.
It’s a great tool for Aerial Photo/Videography at low light conditions and at night, and its also likely to be a nice add-on for any other photo/video shooting…
There are a couple of reasons why every drone-pilot should have this awesome gadget added to his equipment…
First point: To enlighten areas in the dark for better exposed footage.
Second point is to enhance the security due to the better visibility of your drone itself. You will never lose track of your drone in the dark.
Also a point worthy mentioning is the remote control via smartphone where you can regulate the lights in infinitely variables (0-1500 lumen), and connect up to 100 Cubes at the same time.
The Lume Cube* is small 1.5 x 1.5 inch, and it is VERY bright. Measured 1500 lumen.
That is a description of your own little pocket sun*.
You can get Kits to attach it to following drones: DJI Phantom 4 or Phantom 3 , Phantom 3 Adv/Pro (same fit), Yuneec Typhoon H, Autel drones, Inspire 1
You can use it as a portable flash for your smartphone… Attach it to a holder that can be attached on an expansion stick. Or you can get yourself a nice grip holder.
DSLR cameras, GoPro action cameras, both can fit the Lume Cube with the help of specially designed mounts. DSLR mount is intended for only one Cube, but GoPro mount has place for 2 Lume Cubes.
The Cube is charged via Micro USB cable that ships with it. It takes 1h to charge it completely, and its working time, when actively used, is 1-2h.
On the go you can charge the Lube Cubes with a Power Bank. (Thats the one I use with 15000mAh)
The Pocket Sun, as I like to call it, is very durable. It’s fully waterproof up to 100 feet(30.5m) depth.
