DJI has finally introduced a drone we have all been waiting for so impatiently, called:
DJI Mavic 2
This drone is one of the most expected drones to date, and it…
Wait. Did I say “ONE”? Whops…
Obviously, we have not one but TWO versions of the DJI Mavic 2 drone! Yeah, that’s right.
These are the most advanced consumer drones to date, and the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is going to put an end to the Phantom 4 Pro.
Having better performance, better features, smaller body, and LOWER PRICE, there is no reason why any pilot that is looking to upgrade or buy their first ever drone would ever go for P4P when we have the DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
So without further ado, let’s see what these two drones have to offer.
DJI Mavic 2 PRO
Mavic 2 Pro has almost identical dimensions to its predecessor Mavic Pro. And with features that it has, Mavic 2 Pro is the best drone of this size to this date.
People asked for a 1-inch sensor on the next Mavic generation and DJI delivered. And not only that, this drone is equipped with the Hasselblad L1D-20c camera.
Hasselblad is a Swedish company that manufactures cameras of very high quality for more than 50 years. Hasselblad cameras were used in Apolo missions and the most known mission Apolo 11, when humans landed the moon, was filmed with the Hasselblad camera.
So yes, DJI Mavic 2 Pro really received the top-notch “eye”. It supports a 10-bit Dlog-M color profile which can record more than 1 billion colors instead of 16 million that Mavic Pro can “see”. Dynamic range is increased and when shooting pictures you will end up with 20MP stills.
DJI Mavic 2 Zoom
Mavic 2 Zoom still has 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor but it has one awesome feature. It has 2x Optical zoom, or 4x Lossless Digital zoom with its 24-48mm lens!
This really interesting feature will allow you to get close to your subject without disturbing it! If you couldn’t get close to something because you weren’t experienced enough pilot, that’s not a problem anymore.
You will also be able to make Ultra High Quality 48 MP pictures with this Zoom lens.
One interesting feature that comes with this drone is the possibility of doing the Dolly zoom effect as the automatic QuickShot.
But this doesn’t mean it can’t be done on DJI Mavic 2 Pro or any other drone. Guide on How to create Dolly Zoom effect is coming soon. Stay tuned!
DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom have awesome features.
Flight Time – 31 min ( Real-time is around 25 minutes)
Flight Speed – 72 km/h (45 mph)
Low Noise System – It now comes in the standard package
Controllable Range – 8 km (5 miles) away from the remote (1080p live feed)
3D Obstacle Sensors – ALL SIDES (front, back, left, right, down AND UP)
Active Track 2.0 – Now the Mavic can predict the way the target is moving
8 GB Internal storage– You always have a backup if you forget the Micro SD card
All in all, both of these are awesome drones. DJI really went ahead of the competition
We would most certainly suggest these as starter drones because they have omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sensors and will protect your drone from crashing from all sides. So, by all means, go for it!
