Greetings reader. If you are here then I’m going to make a prediction.
You are reading this article because:
1. You are either looking to buy the newest DJI drone, the Mavic 2 Pro or Zoom, and you want to want to order some accessories along with it.
2. You have already purchased one, and now you want to get some useful accessories for the DJI Mavic 2.
Did i get it right? Which one is you? Or did I completely miss?
Please, tell me in the comments below.
Either way, in this article we are going to list some of the best accessories for DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom.
You will see how useful they are, and you will probably wish you had them all.
So let’s dig in.
1. Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom ND Filters
This one is really the most important accessory you could get for your drone.
Even if you’re not a professional content maker, you will need ND filters in order to achieve beautiful pictures and more importantly stunning videos.
All ND filters do, is reduce the amount of light that enters your camera.
This might seem insignificant, but if you read our guide on ND filters you will understand how important it is. Our ND Filter suggestions:
Mavic 2 Pro ND Filter
Mavic 2 Zoom ND Filter
2. DJI Smart Controller
DJI’s newly released Smart Controller is number two on our list because it is the best option to control your drone and to have a clear view of the
Its 5.5-inch screen comes with an outstanding brightness of 1000 cd/m² – there is no more sun protection needed. Regular Smartphones or tablets are only half as bright as the Smarft Controller at best (Ipad Pro 9,7 has a brightness of 511cd/m2).
Another great advantage is the protected batteries working in temperatures between -20°C and +40°C. You can fly your drone in really cold weather without the risk of your device failing.
Batteries lose their power when exposed to extremely cold temperatures, as you can see in this example. I used my phone to make a short video when I went skiing today, and the battery just dropped to zero and it didn’t want to power on until I warmed up the phone. It was -3 degrees Celsius (about 26 degrees Fahrenheit), which isn’t really “extreme”, but you get the point.
The DJI Smart Controller also comes with interesting functions like LiveTalk and Go Share and it even has built in speakers.
3. Micro SD cards for Mavic 2
The Mavic 2 has 8GB onboard storage. That’s enough for about 11 minutes 4K video. That’s clearly not enough, therefore you need a Micro SD card.
If you are wondering which card to get, then check out our article/tutorial about MicroSD cards. You will learn which MicroSD card is best for your drone.
If you don’t want to read all that extra stuff that’s explaining everything in details, just take our suggestion into consideration. Get:
4. Mavic 2 Car charger
One of the fun things about drone flying is discovering new places with your Mavic 2 but sometimes you just want more than your drone can last.
You got that fly-more combo and you went on a road trip, but just after 1h of flight, you find yourself wishing you had more batteries, or at least something to charge them.
-How to charge it while you are traveling?
It’s easy to answer if you are driving – take a car charger with you!
It’s one of the most useful accessories and you shouldn’t skip on getting one.
5. Mavic 2 Multi-Battery Charger
The Multi Battery Charger is another great item to get. It comes in handy when you have to charge multiple batteries and that’s almost always the case. No pilot wants to fly with just one charged battery.
You save a lot of charging time and you don’t need to change the cables after every battery you charged. The Mavic 2 Multi Battery Charger we suggest can charge multiple batteries at the same time.
6. Battery to PowerBank Adapter
Imagine you are somewhere in the wild, you are getting ready to fly your Mavic 2, you charged the controller and all 3 batteries you have. But then, you realize your phone battery is at 13%.
Bad luck, right?
Well… It doesn’t have to be if you have this adapter. Just connect it to one of your batteries, and you will instantly have a perfectly fine PowerBank that will be able to charge your phone to the max.
7. Fly-More Kit/ Extra Batteries
We already mentioned that there might be situations where you wished for more batteries. If you purchased only the drone, then you should really look into this Mavic 2 fly-more kit. It comes with great accessories we already have in this list like a car charger and the PowerBank Adapter. A shoulder bag, a charging hub and two pairs of spare propellers are also in it.
If you really want to experience your drone completely, then it is a small price to pay.
The other option is to buy them separately. We recommend having at least 2 to 3 spare batteries for the best flight experience.
8. PolarPro Katana for Mavic 2
The main reason for the smooth shots you can do with the Mavic 2 is the well performing 3-axis mechanical gimbal.
Wouldn’t it be useful to have such a stabilized camera when shooting ground level scenes without buying an additional gimbal for your DSLR?
If you see yourself thinking about this question from time to time, then it will be a good investment to get the PolarPro Katana. Just attach your Mavic 2 in orderto create a handheld cinema rig for smooth and controlled videos.
But if you want something more compact and easier to carry around with you, then DJI Osmo Pocket is the right choice.
9. DJI Care Refresh for your Mavic 2
With DJI Care Refresh you are insured in case you crash your drone and you will receive fast reparation or replacement.
We highly recommend such protection. If you want to learn more about it visit our full guide on DJI Care and DJI Care Refresh.
The Mavic 2 is a high class camera drone with a very compact size and foldable propellers, and it’s predestined to be used when travelling. But you shouldn’t just throw your Mavic 2 in your luggage alongside other accessories.
